Drive around Iceland’s Ring Road – the circuitous 828-mile Route 1 wraps around the country and is like a greatest hits compilation of Iceland’s scenery.See a live volcano eruption – we hopped on a helicopter to visit the new Geldingadalsgos volcano near Fagradalsfjall during our Ring Road circumference.See the Northern Lights – we spent weeks in Iceland before we finally got a spectacular sighting. This video (not mine) is a good example of Iceland’s incredible diversity. We spent 2-3 weeks in a rental house teaching and consulting remotely, then 2-3 weeks on the road, touring the country, seeing sights. We moved to Iceland in January 2021, and we treated it as half vacation, half work. Level 15 Quests: Completed May 2021 Erika watching the Northern Lights It’s going to take a lot of continued prep work to get there. I’m aiming to have no work events on my calendar for November 2022 through January 2023. Over the last few years, I’ve been working on gradually tapering off my live engagements that require me to be in front of a computer at a specific day/time, and transitioning to disconnected work and passive income instead. Have nothing on my calendar for 3 months straight – I’m probably always going to be “working” in one way or another because I enjoy what I do, and a lot of it can be done disconnected. This has always been on the back burner for me because I could travel and see them instead, but with the COVID19 pandemic, it’s become more important. Send handwritten holiday and birthday cards to my family, on time, for one straight year.Take a high-speed driving course – I have a couple of fast cars, but I’ve never been trained to drive them on the track.I got an oceanfront condo in Cabo, and completed December 2021. Buy a place on the beach – as I gradually transition into retirement, I want to spend my winters down in Mexico. When we get back, here’s what I’m working on for Level 16: Our 9-month expedition through Iceland comes to an end in October, and we’ll be moving back to San Diego. Join me and let’s see how things go, and I hope I can help inspire you to take your life to the next level, too. This page is where I track what I’ve done so far, and I’ve also got a list of things I’d like to do next. I keep track of achievements, and after five significant ones, I level up.
